Kate Kirkman

Kate is a marketing veteran, with an expertise in media planning and buying for some of the largest agencies in the world, such as Leo Burnett, Foote, Cone, & Belding, Kastner Los Angeles, and AKQA.

Throughout her media career, Kate was responsible for the development and execution of media strategies for brands like Old Navy, Nintendo, Dockers, Pillsbury, and Palm. In the early 2000’s, the reason you knew Red Bull Gives You Wings, is likely because you saw TV spot, sponsored placement, billboard or print ad that Kate bought.

Most recently, Kate has been running marketing for the Hawks Restaurant Group in Northern California: responsible for all social media, PR, and food photography. She’s helped guide them through the COVID-19 crisis, by leading the messaging as the restaurants transitioned to take-out and, most recently, opened back up their dining rooms.

She also leads all marketing for Twin Rocks Estate Winery and runs digital marketing for The Orthopedic Specialty Center of Northern California.

Kate is originally from St. Helena, California and graduated from the University of San Diego.

Rian Kirkman

Board Member

Rian is currently doing contract work as the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Brand Strategy for The Cordish Companies.

He spent the early parts of his career in the marketing and advertising agency business, helping drive business growth for the following brands: Honda, Sony Electronics, Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts,  the Oakland Raiders, and Live Nation.

He later relocated to Las Vegas to become the Vice President of Hospitality Marketing for Caesars Entertainment and later for Las Vegas Sands. During his time in Las Vegas, he lead the marketing launch of the world’s first Nobu Hotel and was the marketing lead for over 30 live entertainment shows, including Celine Dion, Elton John, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, and Rod Stewart, as well as 50 restaurant offerings: including chefs Nobu, Gordon Ramsay, Guy Savoy, Giada, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, Wolfgang Puck, Daniel Baloud, Thomas Keller, and Emeril Lagasse. He also opened Jimmy Buffett’s first Margaritaville Casino…Fins Up!

Rian is originally from Portland, Oregon and graduated from the University of San Diego.
